It's been a while since I've wrote about my experience and journey. I like to be completely transparent with you, the Thirteen Fit community, because it's important to me that you know that there is a real person on a real journey with real experiences behind the brand - we are not just some highlight reel, this is real life sh*t.
I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Physical Therapist, and founder of The Stoic Physio Melissa Capurro. We did a little Q&A to introduce her to our community and cannot WAIT to launch our podcast episode (coming soon!).
TODAY IS OUR 6 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It's truly surreal. Most small businesses fail within a year of starting but here we are - strong, resilient, and relentless. Before we get into it, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our brand and mission.
I'd like to introduce my friend Isabelle. Today, she's joining us as a guest on the blog to dive into the reality of transitioning into motherhood. As you know, here at Thirteen Fit we like to open up, be vulnerable, and talk about things that might be difficult. The reality is that we all struggle and today, we are addressing the difficulties of motherhood. "It's ok to not be ok. More people than you know are not ok." - Isabelle Ramirez
"A sexually empowered woman owns her deep desires and devotes time to working on herself so that she can enjoy a deeply loving relationship with herself first and then with others." - Meghan Murray-Cox
The most popular question I get about Thirteen Fit Apparel is:Why "Thirteen?" If you don't already know my story, I want to give you background on where I come from because it is why I started the company, why our mission is what it is, and why we are THIRTEEN.
It's Mental Health Awareness Month! Just the other day, I posted a very personal video on our IG stories about how I am talking to my therapist about seeing a psychiatrist and thinking about medication; in the video I had JUST gotten the message from my therapist, I was in a bit of shock/overwhelm, and I was crying. I want to share WHY I share my story and how it translates to our brand and the bigger picture.
On the journey to our#ultimateself, learning is crucial; so I want to personally invite you to listen and learn as we speak to professionals in fitness, wellness, and mental health. Enter: MOVE MORE WORRY LESS, the podcast.
Being a female entrepreneur has its ups and downs. Making my own schedule is amazing - but it takes dedication. Being my own boss rules - but it takes self-motivation. Being a *boss bitch* is awesome - but it takes consistency, the willingness to continue learning, and being ok with making mistakes.
I figured since we are approaching the end of Self-Love Month that we'd dive into some self-care with one of my favorite female entrepreneurs and dear friend, the smart as f* and gorgeous Dr. Lana of Dr. Lana Wellness.
